Opportunity to attend an industry convention

It's my belief that when the team do well, there's many opportunities make available to us. There will be kind and supportive people around who will help and do us a favour. But remember, not to over demand, when opportunity comes, just accept with both hands, as it may only knock once.

I have been approached by our company AD personnel-YS , that i'll get 2 seats for the coming Namlifa 36th Mega convention. I was very happy and have quickly arranged agents to attend. But the challenge was I only have 2 seats. Who should I give it too? I have a handful of trainers and team leaders whom I give priority in most cases.

While I was trying to figure out who should I gave these seats too. another good news received from YS that i can now have 4 seats. Wow! I didn't bother to ask why suddenly got so many seats for us, i received the offer with thanks.

I have allocated 2 seats for my own unit, for both Yuvone & Rachel to attend, both of them are among the most teachable and eager to learn members. And for the other two, i have allocated one for each of my unit manager. Have extended invitation to Ryan and Ivan. Contacted Ryan, he was very happy about this invitation and immediately accepted. And for Ivan, he was hesitated as he has to arrange babysitting with wife which later on he couldn't spare the time to attend. And i wouldn't want to simply find a replacement, as the member must be a male. Eventually, extended the invitation to Ben, so he can look after them in Genting for 3 days 2 night event. A group whatsapp was created for communication about this convention.

Opportunity is given, grab it or leave it. whatever is the decision, don't regret, that's it. Being a leader myself, i would definitely love to attend this sort of convention. we have many chances to attend as we can afford to pay, but do our members have this financial ability to pay $800 per ticket exclude hotel arrangement? I choose to let our members/agents to attend. They get motivated and be more appreciative to the agency.

Till then. Good luck and smooth sailing...

Remember 31/7/2012

Finally, we've crossed our 1million at 9.45pm.

This morning, only 984,424NPC. And Ivan, Alex, Suzenn, Rachel and Matthew were in office. They were very concerned about our 1Million goal. Really glad to have them onboard.

Viviene also called last night to check if we have enough cases for 1M. Though she's always a lone ranger, but she always call and know when the team needs her. She called tonight at 9.30pm. It was very depressing moment to check every few minutes if cases approved. But i understand that stress is necessary, to move us to next level.

At 10.12pm, I have sent message "CONGRATULATIONS! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"

What's more exciting than a team of people moving forward to complete a task? If not our 1million, together.

Cheerio!

Creating a blog to share about my journey as an agency leader is always in my to do list. Glad that I got it started anyway.

I will be re-organised some of my writing in journal to this blog. Just as a record for whoever gonna read this blog later.

July 11, 2012 (Wednesday)
Looking at how both my senior agents, SC & WY insisting to go for promotion, let me reflected how I have also insisted to proceed with promotion back in year 2007, when i notified my Manager about my intention, though it has not been receiving well.  It was this mixed feeling of happy and worry.

I thought i would only face this feeling when my son gets married, and only face it in 20-25 years later.
Happy for them, because it meant our system is right and it works, and the team is moving forward. Now from single unit to become a working group.
Worry, because (1) can they manage? have they consider all consequences of taking the role? (2) will the team still be able to work as one team?

Fear that if promotion is not favourable at this moment, and i let it happened, so the one ruining our agency could probably be me.

And, have i seriously considered all consequences too?
As a mother agency then, we JE2 must still be strong and solid in foundation.

on working together, i'll do my best to have everyone under same roof working together. Minimise distraction to agents. By all means, we shouldn't victimise agents.

Yes, I have considered all consequences. Let's face it, if anything were to go wrong, it will still go wrong. just be strong-minded.

Now, i have to make sure (1) the centralised NAT training is a fantastic and effective one. (2) re-align Activity days (3) select and train new batch of agency trainers.

Till then. All for good.
